on my tiburon i was going to install a new radio but i cant seem to figure out how to get the trim around the shift knob off, i have looked at all the pics but they are all for an auto and mines manual, i tried muscling it off but it seems to have plastic screws? around the inside keeping it on. when i tried to turn them with an allen wrench it only stripped them. if anyone could tell me how exactly to take it off that would be great thanks

stealth,

Try the search function as this has been covered.

The 'plastic screws' are a push retainer like this:

http://www.sherwin-automotive.com/products...t=38032&cat=181

You have to carefully back the screw head out by hand about 4 turns, then you can use needle nose plier to pull them the rest of the way. They are cheap. If you break some, get new ones at Autozone.

It may be easier just to break off the old retainers, and just plan to replace with new.
