Dear MsSonata,

DO NOT use a paint scraper or putty knife...don't desecrate your car.

Go to newtiburon.com and search for badge removal. There are two methods discussed. One method is to use nylon fishing monofilament, in a sawing motion, to carefully slice throught the double sided tape on the back of your badges. If you use reasonable care, the badge comes off with sticky tape residue on the back, and you have a little sticky tape residue on the car with no damage to your paint. to clean the tape off, a bug and tar cleaner from an auto parts store will remove the residue.

The second method uses dental floss. Works just as well.

^^Add heat (hair dryer) to this method to soften the glue a bit and it will come off with ease. Goo-gone will also work to remove the residue which can be found at most auto parts stores.

You can also use WD40 to get the sticky stuff off after the badge removal. Most people have at least one can of it around the house.

As far as the grill and trunk "Flying H" badges are concerned, I believe the one in the front is an integral part of the grill. The one on the trunk can also be removed using the heat and string method.

I am not totally familiar with the Sonata (I own an Azera and a Santa Fe)but I believe the rear badge is located in an indentation similiar to the Azera and Santa Fe.

By removing the badge you would have a strange looking indentation on the trunk with nothing in it. Many people are getting custom badging for the trunks after removing the stock badge.

Here is a link for one of the members on this site. You can see the custom badge he used for the trunk of his Sonata.

http://www.hyundai-forums.com/2007-Hyundai...item-cid653.htm

Here is another link where you can find custom emblems for your Sonata.

http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/ind...?cPath=31_23_75

I have debadged both of my Hyundais and have even gotten the repacement grill for the Azera that does not have the "Flying H" in it.

Have fun with your car and let your imagination go wild.

Kspec has some badges. Dont know if thats what you were looking for?

BTW DO NOT use wd 40 on your paints finish unless immediately after you wash it thoroughly and wax it.
