Well I'm giving up with this pile O' Poo ......... This is more agrovation than its worth, its off to the auctions with it next week, I think I'd rather have a Skoda.

Had I been the main driver of this car, I get the feeling it would of been involved in a catastrophic if not accident at least incident by now.

I'm tabling its replacement to be a VW Passat 2.0 TDi ...... However I'm getting resistance from the "I want a New Getz" :w00t: Brigade ..... I've said I would consider a Sonata & there's no freakin' way she's having a "New" anything ........... Unless she's paying for it O'course.

I know how frustrating it is. I seem to have gotten lucky (see my post about the CKP Sensor) and the dealer putting a longer bolt to hold in the aftermarket sensor tight seems to have solved my problem. Starts up strong first time, every time. Runs great. Gets 35-36 highway MPG. Now if it will just continue to do this <knock on wood> :whistling:

My brother had quite a similar problem with his car (a Vauxhall, not Hyundai) the engine would just quit every now and then, randomly, no trouble restarting either, just... odd.

Eventually the problem was discovered to be damage to the engine's computer chip, which was a cheap-as-chips part, but the position within the car meant labour would cost in the 000's to change it, so he just bought a whole engine and had it dropped in... that worked!
