Has anyone else found that sometimes kickdown can take quite a time to happen. Sometimes when i go to use it the engine will rev up to the correct speed for the gear but there can be a delay before power is transmitted to the wheels (sometimes as long as three seconds). this only ocurrs when the transmission shifts from 4th to 2nd. If the gearbox is in 3rd gear or overdrive is switched off then it will kickdown as you would expect. The car has only done 3000 miles and this can occur when it is cold or hot, the ATF level is fine. anyone else with similar findings?? My car is a Rio 1.4 auto but i would like to know if anyone else has found this on there Rio/Accent or other Kia/Hyundai auto box, as it might just be a trait of kia/Hyundai auto transmissions.
