does anyone know if you have a dual mass flywheel currently on the vehicle and replace it with a single mass flywheel, if this is a bad thing?

The dual mass is garbage and a single mass is much better.

you dont want to go from a dual mass setup to a single mass because of the space between the clutch and flywheel is going to increase and cause chattering bucking of the tranny

You should not switch from a dual mass flywheel to a single mass flywheel, I had this done to my Tiburon not knowing the dealership that changed out my clutch was doing this. 4 months later I had to have my tranny rebuilt by a Hyundai dealership due to it shattered the bearings in my transmission and was causing my car not to shift into gears.
