Hi Nick
thanks for the advice, i did have a carfax check on the car and found that it had 16 TSB. I am not sure what these means! Are they suggested service by maufactrer to all cars in a certain lot or is it specfic to this car. Plus does this means the car have these specfic problems or are these TSB only recommondations? can you please help me here ?

plus how do value JD power and KBB ratings. they did rate this model to be average and not very reliable!
thanks for your reply here and to my other posting.

looking forward to your comments

mallaakk

TSB`s are Technical Service Bulletins issued by Hyundai to it`s Dealerships........these can be as innocuous as simply detailing a better way to carry out a service operation, or perhaps the issue of a software upgrade.

The first - generation Coupe was in production from `96 to late`99, so there are bound to be quite a lot of them.......& it is ridiculous to judge the quality of a car by the number issued (as if they were re-calls)!.

If you take your time & find an example with a full HYUNDAI service history (the cambelt should have been changed at 50K miles) with reasonable mileage (say no more than 12K per year) I`m sure you will be delighted with your purchase!.......especially if you ONLY let Hyundai work on it.

You can read what fellow-owners think of their cars by visiting here :-
U.K.H.C.C.

Good luck,
Nick. :)
