Hi Everyone!
Just bought a new CD player to (finally) replace the old rad/cass in my 2000 Amica. The CD unit drives 4 speakers. My AMica has no rear speakers but has the vacant 5" bays at the back (where the parcel shelf is held up) to take a pair of speakers. I removed the plastic bays and there are holes in the chassis to connect the speakers to the cables but I dont see any cables!
Does anyone know if there actually ARE any cable there to connect rear speakers??? It seems a bit stupid if Hyundai have provided the rear bays etc but no cables running freom the headunit. Anyone know how to connect the speakers?

It will probably be best to run your own to the back

There SHOULD be build-in cables for rear speakers (as there are already cables connected to the cd/tape connectors in the dashboard). However having spent half a day, I could not find the connectors nearby the rear speakers bay. Therefore I apply extra cables for the speakers. Run the cables inside the plastic cover beneath rear door and then front door. The screws (and the board under back seat) have to be removed first.
Apart from that, I would recommend you to add subwoofers if you expect better music quality. Not much can be expected from 5 inch rear speakers unless you're a news listerner (like me myself - most of the time).
Hope this helps. Happy installing ....

Joko
