Hey guys!
This is my first post though I've been reading this site since I bought my 04 Accent almost four years ago. One of my first mods was removing the yellow plastic from the headlights. Anyway I've got a question that is not necessarily model specific and was hoping for some advice.
I've been noticing a metallic squealing noise from the right side of my car as I'm driving at 40km/h or more. It sounds like it might be coming from the front or back wheels, thought I'm not sure which. It's most noticeable when the windows are down. When I lightly tap on the brakes, the sound goes away, but as soon as I let the breaks go it comes back. The car has 66,000 kms on it and has had work done on the bumper a while back but nothing else. I've got another 2 years on the warranty as well so I'm planning on taking it in. I'm just wondering if anyone might have a clue as to what it is, just in case the mechanics try and tell me that the problem isn't covered under warranty.
I know it's a bit hard to diagnose it with what little information I can provide but any help would be appreciated!
I did do some searching, some people mentioned it might be the brake pads that are worn out. I always thought that the brake pads would start making that warning noise when the brakes were being applied, not when I was just cruising. But I could be wrong!
Thanks again!
