Go to Autozone, Pep Boys, or Checker Auto and get your Check Engine Light code (s) read for FREE.
Go to hmaservice.com and register. In the DTC tab, you can reference the CEL codes and causes. This at least informs you before you go into the dealer.
I had the air bag seat sensor fail on a 2001 Sonata. Only the dealer has the part and it was like $250. Because you are fooling around with explosive cartridges in the SRS system, you have to let the dealer handle any air bag system repairs.
Also, while the Air Bag Light is on, the SRS system is disabled.
