Hey,

Anyone one have one of these installed? I got the wife one for Christmas and due to backups in installs we just got it installed.

The problem is that when you start the vehicle, the doors unlock. Not very secure to start it up in a parking lot a block away if anyone walking by can just hop in.

Talked to our dealer and they say they cannot disable what ever causes this and they say it is up the auto car starter installer to get around it.

Seems to us that it is some kind of "Can't lock your keys in the car" feature to us, because you can't lock the doors with a key in the ignition, the same things happens on our Santa Fe(it does not have an auto car starter).

Anyone have ideas?

Thanx

:00000732: Black Diamond!

You problem will require the electrical schematics for your vehicle to solve.

go to hmaservice.com and register.
Tab ETM has the schematics.

Hey,

Forgive my ignorance but I'm not sure how that is going to help as I'm not too bright when it comes to automobile maintenance or modifications.

I have done some more research and the vehicle does come equipped with an anti lock-out feature. The local Hyundai dealer should have some knowledge if the anti lock-out feature can be bypassed or turned off.

I would assume that the dealer has probably had to install a remote car starter at some point and have encountered this issue.

All I know is that if the problem is not resolved quickly we will be returning the remote car starter.

I'm not sure how your car starter works but on mine you use the remote to start the vehicle but you can't actually drive off without the key in the ignition. Also if you get in the vehicle and push on the brakes before putting the key in the ignition the vehicle will turn off.
I use the orginal remote to lock the doors after the car has started (have to push two times) if you're worried about safety.

I have a starter on my entourage, my door lock features on the starter remote are not activated (as it will interfere with the automatic doors or so I am told). I am able to remote start the vehicle without the doors automatically unlocking. However I must carry both remotes if I want to operate everything remotely.

So you may want to look at your starter kit for options or find a different system. Try www.autostart.ca to find out the details on the system installed on my Entourage if you like.
