The Grandeur has no problem in starting when cold it just when you want to drive it first of all until it hit normal running temp

Hey Finny,

i live in Aus aswell and i had the same problem recently with my 2000 grandeur.

the best thing to do is get it scanned by a hyundai dealer. but from what you have said i would say the your air flow sensor is dying (and will die pretty soon). I'd almost guarranty that if you change your air flow sensor your car should be back to 100%. it might cost around $600.

Hope that helps.

SINCE IT HAS ONLY 70,000 KLM ON THE CLOCK COULD BE OR THE OTHER COULD BE TRANSMISSION SINCE IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN MORE NOW SINCE I HAVE HAD IT FOR NEARLY 12 MONTHS SO ONCE I CAN FIND THAT SENSOR I CAN CHECK IT OUT AS WELL

THANKS

right then, if the engine revs. o/k but the car will not 'pull' when cold it would, as l said in my p.m. indicate a gearbox problem. this could be down to the input/output speed sensors but could also be something more serious, it would be worthwhile changing the fluid (SP111) this may help. it would also be sensible to get the gearbox electrics checked out on the scanner at your dealer. one more thing that may be worth a try is to disconnect the battery ground lead for a few mins. doing this will reset the computer
