Craig,

White looks great clean...too bad it doesn't stay that way for more than 1 hour after you leave the car wash.

White is not the most efficient color when it comes to cleanliness. The best in this regard are the gray-silver-gold-beige cars. White is second best, but dark colors, notoriously black, are the worst, especially in the winter where snow and salt are frequent.

As far as taste, to each his own. I actually didn't want white, but that was the only 4-banger available on that late frigid night of Jan. 31 when the dealer abducted me at gun point, forcing me to sign the papers, giving me a deal I could not refuse. But I must admit I LOVE that color, makes her look very NOBLE, very ELEGANT, like a sexy BRIDE..........

Sports cars I could not imagine white, I'd prefer in bright, vivid colors, red, orange, bronze, yellow, deep green, purple....

this Sonata is actually my first ever white car; I didn't actually think I would like it until I saw a whole row of Sonata's sitting there at the dealer. The white one looked the most "luxurious" to me for some reason ...

I concur. However white cars tend to have better resale values because they show dents and dings the least.

You know mama I'll disagree with you on this one. :w00t: My black Mustang needs dusted everyday when it's clean. The pearl white Sonata.....I don't dust it between washes. If it's dirty I just wash it. In good times I can go 2 weeks without washing.

You're comparing black to white, Craig. Of course black would look dirty MUCH quicker than white. But the truth is, because cars painted beige-gold-silver-gray have a NEUTRAL color, they camouflage dirt much better.

After all what's the color of dirt? Beige-gold-silver-gray...

 Mama way to come to the defense. :w00t: Now that made me laugh. Not that there is anything wrong with Beige-gold-silver-gray. :shades: ......oh never mind.

Might as well be an I4 vs V6 thread.

Was wondering how long it would take before someone complained about the title and went all politically "correct"

In some ways I regret getting my car in black, then when I finish washing and drying it and stand back for a look, I know it had to be black.

Craig,

So now we CAN pick on owners with white cars and be PC!

Just for comparison, the 2007 Corvette Production numbers are in: The color leader is Black exterior, and bringing up the rear is Artic White exterior.

Exterior Color Production
10U Arctic White exterior 2,387 5.9% 1,312 6.1% 676 6.2% 399 1.9%
