Anyone happen to know the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) for the 2007 or 2008 Hyundai Entourage. I have spoken with the dealer's service dept & Hyundai Customer Service and they did not have this information.

I could not get the figure you requested stated as GCWR but for the US Spec 2008 I got this:

Per the owner's manual, if you have the max GVWR of 5,898 lbs (includes the max payload of 1,498 lbs) , you are limited to the minimum tow capacity of 1,000 lbs.

5,898 + 1,000 = 6,898 lbs.

Can this be increased? Better brakes or something? If you are the only one in the Van can you tow more?

Front Axle Max 2998
Rear Axle Max 3064

This is where it gets confusing... Maxing out the axles gets you to 6062

Reading the manual it only says the van can support 3500 with trailer brakes and 1000 without. Max tounge weight is 350.

Vehicle Capacity is 1157 per the manual while subtracting gvwr from curb weight is 1498.

I haven't seen GCWR for the Entourage ever printed anywhere. I guess it is because it is figured as a passenger vehicle instead of a truck. Using thier numbers of 5890 GVWR and 3500 max tow, I would assume 9398.

All that said I wouldn't go past the 3500 mark. (Even though the Ausies get 4400lbs) All it takes is one good lawyer to play the numbers game with the court should you every be liable for an accident.

I tow a 2700lb (dry) travel trailer with mine that when all loaded up we are very near capacity. I am pleased with how it handles but would never want to try anything bigger.
