Hi,

I'm an Aussie working(?) in the Middle East and today I picked up my 2008 Veracruz with SatNav.

First impressions....Brilliant!!!

I traded in my 2006 Azeera...another lovely Hyundai...and after driving 500km today I really like the VC's ride, comfort and smootness.

SatNav is fun to use and very accurate.

It is used as the AM/FM Radio display and also has "Buttons" for TV, AUX, MAKKAH (in case you need to know in what direction to pray) etc.

The DVD, TV and AUX functions all work on screen from Standstill to about 20 kmh, then a message come up "No display while driving".

There must be some wise person out there that can overcome the "Speed" input.

OK, the AUX....in the handbook it mentions that an the AUX selection will "select the component connected to the AUX IN Jack....no mention where the AUX IN jack is though.

Had a quick hunt around the cabin but couldn't find anything.

In the handbook it shows the "connections" at the rear of the unit and has all the pin assignments of the various plugs....it mentions, Rear Camera.

Also got Bluetooth.

Will try and post some pix soon.

Nigel

:00000732: nigel,

I have been thinking about trading up from a Santa Fe to a VC. Your comments and others are very encouraging.

We traded up from a Santa Fe to a Veracruz back in September, and I couldn't be happier with the decision to do so. We really don't care about all the bells and whistles soweI decided that a GLS was good enough for us. We have had the Veracruz for about three months now and I can tell you that it is quite a nice upgrade from the Santa Fe! I like the way it rides better, has more power, is more roomy, has better access to the 3rd row seats and gets at least the same or better mpg's than the Santa Fe! Definately worth it! The only option we really miss (well - my wife anyway) is the heated seats.

Greeting 08 VC Owners,

I am getting a 2008 Veracruz Limited with all the bells and whistles early next month. If anyone would like to give me any pointers or advice I would sure appreciate it. I will make sure to keep you in the loop when on the first drive. :)
