Hello Everyone,

I test drove both a 2007 Santa Fe (no 2008 available) and a 2008 Veracruz. I will most likely purchase one or the other. The Santa Fe rides very well over the small bumps but the larger ones seemed to feel pretty harsh. Even though you still felt the same bumps with the Veracruz, they were not as harsh. Was wondering if anyone else considered the Sant Fe before buying the Veracruz and what there thoughts were?

Thanks, Jeff

Jeff,

We've had our Santa Fe for nearly a year and is about to be replaced by Hyundai(following a BBB arbitration hearing). We are going with the Veracruz. It really was a no-brainer.

The Veracruz is simply a far more substantial and refined vehicle. Its also Hyundais current flagship and has been receiving great reviews everywhere.

The Santa Fe is a nice vehicle but compared to the Veracruz its a step or two down.

I just traded in my 2004 Santa Fe and bought 2007 Veracruz. I didn't check out the new Santa Fe's, but the VC is a huge step up from the old SF! Much nicer ride, bigger engine and more toys!

They've definitely designed the Veracruz to feel more upscale.

The Mazda CX-9 is also worth a look.
