Stuck it where? In the CD player? Is it a stock unit or the upgraded Kenwood unit? In order to get the unit out of the dash you need to remove the 2 screws above the gauge cluster (speedo & tach) and the 2 screws behind the ashtray. Next, start at one side of the dash and remove the entire facia unclipping it from one side to the other. Behind that are several electric connections that need to be unplugged before the dash plate will pull away. Once that is removed, your head unit is held in with 4 screws. It will be attached to the bin under the unit (if your car was equipped with it) so they will come out as one piece.

Removing the entire dash fascia isn't hard to do... the second time! The first time is a little frustrating trying to figure out how to unhook the electrical connectors. Each connector has a button to push to release the connection. Once you figure them out, the rest is really very easy.

I can remove my dash fascia in about 5 minutes. The first time, though, it took about 30-45 minutes.

When you put it back together, make sure you connect all the connectors and you don't mess any of them up. I think on the 04-06 there are no issues but on previous models you could cross-wire the hazard switch and dimmer (or something like that) and get some strange results.

Dear burton,

STOP! You don't need to remove the face plate! I had a stuck CD in a 2004 Santa Fe, dealer wanted a fortune (relatively) to fix, so I came up with a cheap answer.

Most fly fishing and sports shops sell a fish hook removal tool that looks very similar to a hemostat. It is a long nosed locking plier device. Normally the jaws are about 1.5 to 2 inches long. Using a flashlight, you can reach in from the left or right side, slide the open lower jaw of the hemostat under the CD, close and lock the jaws, wiggle upward, and slide it right on out. Cost $5.

I even saved my wife's Happyfeet CD without a scratch!

Doohickie,

No and yes.

Failed to destroy the 'Happy Feet' CD, but did manage to throw the Michael Bolton CD away. "Sorry dear, I have no idea where your Michael Bolton CD is."

Try to reset the stereo by disconnecting the battery for 10 sec.
