Anyone else have the issue where when you put the second row down in order to get into the 3rd row, once you put the seat back up, the seatbelt is locked? This has happened and my wife is on her 3rd seatbelt now. The car is in for service again today as they have ordered a part from Hyundai that is a "retro-fit kit" and it will take 4 hours to install I am told. I have searched the web and only found 1 other person speaking about this and nothing about a retro-fit kit anywhere yet.

I know we can't be the only people having this issue. Again, we put down the second row seat on the driver side to access the 2rd row. Once you put the seat back in the upright position, the belt is locked so tight that the leather on the seat is acutally denting and you need to put the seat back down not to make it crease.

Anyone else have this problem and was the "retro-fit kit" ordered for you?

Well, a retro-fit kit was installed the and the problem is solved. There is a bulliten about this issue but not yet a recall to dealers. So, if you have this issue, be sure to let them know that it might be the retro-fit kit needed from the service bulliten that has been issued.

Thanks for posting this. I actually bought a 2007 Veracruz SE last Saturday. One of the only negatives I've experienced thus far is the second row seatbelts locking. This occurs for my kids in their booster seats, so I will try it out and see if there's any rhyme or reason to it so that I can contact Hyundai.

Regards,
Joey
