I cannot get into my car (Hyundai Pony) when there are some minus degrees. The whole locking mechanism is frozen (not the place where you put your key, but the whole thing).
I manage to get into my car through the back door where there is no such mechanic system. After that I try to pull the "locking tap" of every four doors, but in most cases they won't move.

So I am looking for a solution to this... Is there a possibility to oil the whole mechanism somehow? Anything will do, because it is really suspicious to get into my own car throung the back door and through the back seat!! :)

the only way to do this is to remove the interior door trim and spray the door lock mechanisum with WD40 or something similar that should stop any moisture inside the door from freezing

Been there done that with an Accent hatch. I'm sure it wasn't pretty watching my lard@$$ climb over the seats from the trunk.

Auto parts stores sell tubes of lock deicer that you can squirt thru the keyhole to release the lock.

Also someone told me (after I shared my strory) that you can find someone with a lighter or a match to heat up your key under the flame and let the heat release the lock.

yes maybe, but if you had read the post correctly it stated that it was'nt just the key lock that was freezing up but the entire door lock inside the door
