I called Hyundai's customer care and asked after I purchased my Terracan second hand. Mine is an 04 model with vin ending 125644. They confrmed mine was 148 BHP and not 160.

Restyling was at end of 2004 year. More exact date probably will be difficult to determine.

Haven't got any more information but here is a road test of the actual car I own! It was first registered in April 2004

Yes the 160 bhp came in with the facelifted version , Face lift has wider squarish wheelarch flares rather than the prettier round ones on the early model . Also has white backed guages on dashboard . I think early 2005 was when they were introduced ? Mines an mid 05 model and has 160 bhp

No, the 160bhp engine came in earlier, mine was first registered in April 2004 and Hyundai have confirmed it is fitted with the 160bhp engine.

Best way to find out which engine a particular car has is to contact Hyundai Customer Services.
