I just had a new Pioneer head unit installed in my "06" Sonata. The radio reception is terrible on FM and no signal on AM. I like to know if anyone may have experienced the same problem.

Sounds like if you had good reception on the stock unit that maybe the installer is to blame. I'd go back and talk to them. Maybe the antenna was not properly connected to the new unit.

I did just that. But I went to a different Circurt (Jircurt) City and up-graded the unit.
The new tech did find problems with the installation and corrected them with the new install and it sounds great now, But still no "AM" he (tech) seems to think that it's a antenna issue. The Sonata antenna is located in the rear window and suggested I have a exterior antenna installed. What I'd like to find is some sort of antenna boster or amplifier before I have someone drill a hole in my car.
