 Hi whats the deal with servicing, phoned the dealer who quoted 400 quid for a 40000 mile service, can you get it serviced elsewhere using hyundai parts and keep the warranty or does it HAVE to be done by hyundai. I have just bought the car and its not due for a couple thousand miles yet but would like to know?
My dealer is in Dundee tayside cheers for your answers

Dear diddly,

Sorry for your UK laws. Read your warranty.

In the US, as long as you get your maintenance services performed in accordance with the Hyundai maintenance schedule the dealer must honor the warranty. This applies for all of the services listed from filter replacement, timing belt replacement, spark plug replacement, etc.

US dealers try to 'pull a fast one' on us by saying that you have to use their maintenance services. They really hate me when I bring in my own aftermarket parts that are likely superior to Hyundai parts. In that case, they mark on my service order that they warranty labor only and not the part.

Find a cheaper dealer. Is there any reason why you can't take your car to a reputable UK Ford dealer?

Byron

the above post is correct even in the u.k. you do not have to use a main dealer for your services, as long as the service is done by a reputable garage using genuine parts your warranty must be honoured by hyundai
