First timer here. Unfortunately I have to say that I own a 2002 accent gl 1.6L with a/t. Would like to know if anyone has had a problem with the gas tank bubbling up and/or overflowing when the tank is not full. At first I thought it was the gas pump nozzle, but after going to a few gas stations I realized the problem is my gas tank system. I also get the "check engine light on.

In Australia we refer to Gas as Petroleum, if that's what you are referring to.
Anyway My 2000 Accent Gs emitts a series of knocks and loud bangs when ignition is switched off, mostly until car cools down. Not sure what the issue is with the Polycarbon-alloy fuel tank, but dealer can not seem to diagnos? As no other faults are active.

In your case mate sounds like a blocked fuel system or contaiminated fuel ???
Possible recommendation, in Australia Shell has released an Optimax fuel with 95 percent octane and clean agents to flush the fuel system, you should try it and see what happens after that !!!!

Good luck.
