I have a 2004 Sonata with a 2.4. When very cold the motor or a component is very noisy and even makes a kind of whistle and it stop as soon as it gets warmer. Anybody had this problem ? They replace the alternator, thinking that was the fault and there is even more noise since then.

Yes I have the same model and the same noise. I have heard that this is apparently normal for a short period on startup.

The noise disappears after a very short time if you give the gass pedal a quick push. Or at least it does with mine. Good luck :-)

Ty Duncan, but I went back to the dealer today and they replace the belt, apparently it was slipping... I will see tomorrow morning cause it will be -35 degrees tonight and it makes this noise only when it is very cold, so I keep you posted
