Hello everyone. I have a brand-new 1400 Getz, and have absolutely no problems. But I was reading the manual and read the "limp home procedure" in the event I have to override the immobilizer, if that fails or the immobilizer light flashes.

I made several calls, to the dealership and to a few Getz service points, and no one knew the override code. One guy said it is only intended for Korea, another looked at the manual and said it is 0123 - which is the "example". I received two other stabs-in-the dark. I'm a weird guy - I like being prepared. I don't fancy the immobilizer going south on me at 3 am in pouring rain, and not knowing how to override it.

Does anyone know the code? (This is starting to sound like a James Bond story....) If every Getz has a different code, where can I get the code for 'my' care - or is the same code used for every Getz. Help please.

Happy & safe motoring to you all.

LarryZA

Hi

Sorry I can't help you but I have an Australian Model 2007 Getz. The owners manual says "The Limp Home Procedure" is to get the car towed to a dealer.

Cheers.

Hi Mate, so why do they refer to "the code/password" in the limp-home procedure? Best regards, LarryZA

It was a mission, but I got the info. All getz's (in South africa anyway) have the code/password of 2345. Haven't tried it, but it came from 2 sources so it must be right.

Cheers

That code can only be inputted by a Hi Scan or GDS unit . If its not placed in on PDI it can cause problems when out on the road.
