I see that some forum members have yet to negotiate a price on their new vehicle.

We took the advice offered by Consumer Reports and obtained the wholesale invoice price for our Santa Fe before we met with the salesperson. That $40 CDN was the best money that we could have spent.

In the end we saved more than $1400 off of the MSRP. The whole negotiating process lasted less than half an hour and everyone walked away feeling good about the deal.

For the Canadian wholesale invoice price we used the services of Car Cost Canada. I'm sure there are other options out there if you look around.

I would highly recommend arming yourself with this information before you sit down to negotiate your deal.

i work as a car salesman. and let me just say...invoice is an easy goal. aim lower then invoice, then theres some resistance from my managers, but 90% of the time....if your buying a car in stock, they do it.
Hyundai dealerships don't make money from any one car deal, they work off unit count, as in, the dealer needs to sell 15 or more a month to make any real money.

Edit: End of the month does mean something then

The salesman I bought my Elantra from said the same thing. They were giving a free tank of gas to you if you let them fill out the customer satisfaction survey. He said they got something from a 100% rating.

this is a difference between canadian and american hyundai dealerships.... canadian dealers wont do that because they get paid differently than the unit count way that american dealers have...
