Hi folks

I'm a little confused - or rather disbelieving! I just took delivery of a new 1.4 Getz which is running beautifully, touch wood.

I was told by the salesman that the FIRST service is at 15,000 Km. Yet the Service Passport Book, clearly shows 1,000 Km. I would have thought that an oil-change and a new oil filter would be a good idea after the first 1,000 Km - whether or not the engine is bench run-in. The salesman told me to ignore the 1,000 Km service and only to have it done at 15,000 Km (or after 12 months.)

I don't want to do anything to compromise the performance of the engine or invalidate the warranty. Both are important. Can anyone steer me in the right direction - not so much as an opinion (although I would respect it) but what is actually required. Like why print it in the service passport book and then be told it is superfluous!
