Business practices. Warranty work, because you WILL need to send those back. Shady business practices for selling it for $19.99 and shipping for over $50. hahaha!

Fry your car's electrical wiring? Or spend a few more bucks and save yourself from an electrical fire.

The discount applies to actively serving fire/police. Besides - this is the prime example of what I mentioned earlier... your FATHER was a fire fighter, not you. The discount would apply to him, for his car, if he were still running into burning buildings. Folks, the discounts are meant to help those that help us.

I have a family to feed too... so to save a few bucks, you'd take food off my family's table??? C'mon!

Awww, cmon Jeff... My baby's momma's great grandads nephew by marriage is thinking about joining the reserves.

LOL, it's sales...I respect your discount and how you wish to award it, but remember: Give the customer an inch and he will push you right outa bed.

what makes these kits that your going crazy for any different from these

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-XENON-C...sspagenameZWDVW

i should be ordering these within a week.

i rather go with these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-Xenon-C...sspagenameZWDVW
seller has been on ebay since 2003
The ballast and the bulbs will come with two year warranty under normal use. Warranty will cover all normal defects, any physical damages will void the warranty

as for fly by night the guy who led a group buy here can not be found if you have any problems so if i were buying i rather buy that one from ebay
but to each his own

Umm, what ? If you're talking about TyGuy I talk to him a few times a week - actually chatting with him right now. I bet this will get him to chime in.

And that eBay ... another $50 for the product and $30 for shipping. I think they are just using that ploy to dodge taxes. Lame. Even though the "product location" says Los Angeles I would beg to differ ... horrendous spelling, incomplete sentences, etc. He's just somone in who-knows-where with a deal to ship direct from a warehouse in the US. I would just about bet that "normal use" warranty would not be honored as they would just have to say "that wasn't normal use", as in, installing in a car that didn't come factory with HIDs. Just my opinion though.

Hi There, TYGUY here the fly-by-night HID seller.

Well, I don't want to start any fights but I still screen the forum every few days even if I don't post. I CAN be found since my email is in the public profile (BTW it's tyguy@tyguy.net).

I'll admit, without being ashamed, that there were failures after the FIRST group buy and all failed parts (mostly bulbs and ballasts in combination) were replaced for free in a reasonable time frame. Group buy #2 went flawless due to a change of the vendor!

Talking pricing, I highly suggest to go with a real person and not "some eBay seller" (even though I buy and have bought from eBay, even higher priced articles) and would go, following my own guts, with USAF Xenon since he is an actual person in the US and there are apparently some personal recommendations from others.

I remember when I had the idea to offer HIDs I asked the forum owner, Andy, and the local mod madderhatter if it was OK to organize a group buy.

Talking HIDs, some may hate me for what will come now, if you commit to >10.000 units I may give them to you for a little over 30 bucks including priority shipping inside the US (which is ~ 8.60) .... BUT since no smaller company will take that risk the price is higher.

So if anybody has a problem with me just contact me - please!

Cheers

Matt aka Tyguy

Again - to each his own. To make sure I'm not a "fly-by-night", which has been debunked about your accusation towards another already, feel free to visit the Nevada State website and do a company search for: Fanatik Networks LLC. You'll see that I'm chartered, and was originally founded in Maryland in 1999 as Audio Fanatik; formed Racing Fanatik; then Fanatik Networks LLC in Nevada to gel them together.

Hmm, I'd like to see 99% of those "companies" on eBay tell you their history so readily. Go for it!

Oh yea - I'm in the USAF, so I'd think it would be easy to track me down - Jeremiah Patterson. Military.com will find me if nothing else.

Want my SSN too? haha!

Have a good one all.

i would buy anything from ebay if you have a seller thats been around from years
with great feedback. if you like paying twice as much for an item then go right ahead.

listen the bottom line is the price is 80 bucks how they break it up doesnt mean a thing. how he spells and his sentence structure makes him a bad seller? i dont know
i didnt know ebay was an english class.
the person has over 1800 pos feedbacks with a 95.5 % pos rating,
i would buy from them any day of the week

ps my spelling sux and so does my sentence structure.
i was a father at the age of 19 i had to stop going to college
and get a job where i didnt have to write very much for 20 years
i worked with my hands it doesnt make me a bad person. i was able
to put my son through private schools and send him to law school
if i have to write anything ill have him do it

Jay,
Mil0214 code discount is obviously better than the 10% forum one. Does the Fire qualify for Volunteer Fire Department also or just as regular full time job? Any options of getting 4300K bulbs for 9006 and H4 bi-xenon (retractable) and/or 3000K (for H3 fogs). I have a couple cars with MANY lights to replace. Possible better pics on here or website of the retractable ones in both positions. Some I've seen have a shield that totally closes off the bottom to stray light and slides open with the bulb to allow proper light through for the high beam. Also the H3's, any pics or do any have the wires coming from the sides of the bulbs (like a normal Halogen H3)? My Hella DE's have a different mounting clip that actually goes over the end of the bulb not the normal spring wire that just hits the base. I can send pics if it helps. How much is shipping to Selden, NY 11784 for like 4-5 sets total (combo of above listed)?

I had some PM/emails with Tyguy that seemed very promising and then he was gone. I did try more PM's and e-mails with no replies. I even went to his website and tried. After April he was gone, tried in May, PM'd Madderhatter in June and reply was that he though Matt was on vacation in Europe for maybe a month. Even after returning none of them were replied to. No offense Matt, but it definitely left a bitter taste.

Had the same issue trying to buy the ones in classifieds from other forum members after posting in the topic and PM.

As sad as it is, good customer service is hard to find lately in MANY places.

If you click on ALFU's link and look at the pictures of the product. It seems very close to a review I read somewhere :whistling: "Ballast/Ignitor Box - very high quality. It's actually chromed with a perfect mirror finish. Not just shiny metal, it looks like a mirror. It's not just a stamped metal box with crimps holding it together; there are actually four Torx-head screws, one at each corner, holding it all together. The two wire harness coming out of the box is fully rubberized (not just a plastic sleeve) and very flexible. One of the slickest features about the ballast box is the way it mounts. It has a black, metal "holster" - like the type you would use with a cell phone ! You mount the "holster" where you want it and the ballast slides into it and locks into place. The holster itself mounts using two mounting holes that are vertically about an inch apart, and there are rubber grommets in the mounting holes for shock/vibration protection - very nice.

Can you tell I love the ballast yet ?

That's about it. No relays are included in this kit because they're not needed - not even in the standard kit with two bulbs and ballasts.

Verdict - I would recommend it in a split-second. Put together very well and of very high quality; "

Well, no surprise here. As "usual", what started out as a simple question has spiraled into this mess by the usual means. So it's now closed. It was getting ready to be moved anyway as it never did have anything to do with any specific car. If someone wants to start another one in the "off topic" area feel free.

@ joe - like I previously said, I was chatting with Matt at the time I read your post about him being "fly-by-night". I knew exactly whom you were talking about so I let him know. I "think" that's what friends do for each other.

@ all others - if you're interested in HIDs and want to roll the dice and buy off eBay go for it. If you want a known good product sold by an "actual" company with an "actual" history and reputation then you're in the same boat as me.
