I have a 2007 Elantra with 1300 miles. A rattle or buzz comes from the glove box when driving over roads that are the least bit rough. If I open the glove box, the sound disappears. I took to the dealer for another issue at 500 miles and they couldn't detect any noise. Since then, it has gotten worse. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Leave the glove box door open? :grin:

First, you need to diagnose the problem. Get a second person to ride with you.

Empty the glove box. Road test for noise.

Still there? Open the glove box, inspect behind it for any loose objects. With the glove box open, road test for noise.

Still, there? Get under the dashboard with a flashlight, a 10 mm socket driver, and a phillips #2 screwdriver. Tighten every bolt and screw you can see.

Still there? Take your second person with you to the dealer, and take the service writer on a road test for noise.

There is a service campaign about this; aske your dealer about TSB 06-01-018. They will put different bumpers in to take up the slack.

I am having the same problem with my 07 Elantra, the glovebox rattles like crazy. I took the manuals out and it is a little better without the weight, but it still rattles enough to annoy me. Now if I could only figure out why my trunk is opening by itself.... 3 or 4 times I have gone to my car in the driveway or in a parking lot only to find my trunk is wide open.

It is not the key fob button as far as I can tell.

Both problems are happening to a friends 07 Elantra as well..
