Sort of a catch 22 with buying replacement batteries for your auto. Even though they are rated for longer than the one that came with the car, replacement batteries NEVER seem to last as long as the original (nor do any other parts come to think of it :angry2:
If you buy a 72 month battery, it will likely last a little over half that time (considering how hot it gets in GA) and you can get it replaced under warranty, but the depreciation you must pay and it would be about half of the cost of a new one.
Really, it seems one is better off just to buy a 3 year battery from Autozone for $35 and then chuck it when it goes bad 3 years later. Otherwise, you pay an initial $70-$90 for a really top notch battery like AC/Delco and you keep paying the half value depreciation every few years. That is, you will always be out an additional $35 or more with the initial investment of the big name battery.
