There is a brief description in one of the posts here:
http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0dad43"...No special tools are necessary to change the head unit.
The only time extra care is needed is removing the "wood" trim that runs across the top of the panel and over the glove box. Careful prying forward with a plastic trim remover pops the retaining clips free. The dash panel that surrounds the stereo is removed by unscrewing about 6 to screws.
The head unit itself is secured by a few additional screws.
The harness is unplugged and repluged into the new unit.
The entire change, including the learning curve, took less than 1 hour..."
and some more

"Remove the woodgrain trim at the top of the dash over teh radio (extends to passenger side of car), you will see 3 screw...remove them. There are two screws located at the bottom of the console, right under the cubby hole with the door and right above the ash tray. If you slide your fingers along that bottom, you'll feel the two openings.
The last screw to remove is actually located under the ignition and to get to that one, you have to lower the panel under the steering wheel. There is a screw located behind the fuse panel door that must be removed and then two screws at the bottom of the panel on each side. Once the screws are out, pop the panel down (it doesn't have to come all the way off) so you can access the one screw and remove that.
To remove the console panel...get a good grip on it and pull towards you until it pops off. Then all you have to do is disconnect all the harnesses attached to it. "
