Hello everybody,

My Scoupe is stock and I would like to get more power to it. Only mod (that I know) is pipecross air filter.

My outlet is stock and the pipe from outlet to catalysator is 1.75" and from catalysator to end 2" with one Simons muffler.

I rememberd that Garrett T15 could go as far as 160bhp so and the the fuel up to 180bhp. So I think the 160bhp would be the most reasonable decision (when thinking the money is issue).

Can the exhaust outlet/pipe to 160bhp?

And now the question, tell me everything I need to do to get some power :amen:

Get a Garret T2 or T2.5 i would rather get the T2.5 because u will get bored of the T2 pretty quick you will probably have to get a new Down pipe made?(i dont know cos i use Mitsubishi turbo's)

Increase your Feul pressure and get a Intercooler. then get your airfeul ratio's check out. then u will know how much you can boost..

Being honest.....forget it!.

The n.a. Scoupe & the Turbo cars are SOOO different!.

All you can do with a n.a. Scoupe is basically IHE.......intake, headers & exhaust.

A cold air induction kit is fine, as is a mandrel-bent cat-back exhaust system.....(mine cost £340 about 6 years ago!).....these will give you an extra 10/12 b.h.p. on an n.a.car.

Headers will cost more than the value of the car.......& will only take the power-gain up to around 15 b.h.p. (after you`ve done the 2 previously-mentioned mods.!).

Remember, the last Mk. II Scoupes are at least 12 years old now & are priced accordingly!!.
Absolutely perfect Turbo cars might just attract some interest if the mileage is under 80K., but anything less than this will attract no attention from buyers.......& in the U.K. at least, you will have to pay a scrapper to take them away!.

Sorry to be realistic, but my advice would be to save your money, run your car into the ground & then buy something more modern.
This is just what I will be doing in a few month`s time........which is heart-breaking as my car is perfect & has never `missed a beat` in almost 9 years of ownership!.

Cheers,
Nick. :whistling:

Topini,

I agree with Valkyrie. I have been reading your posts on modifying this Scoupe for months now. Your project planning is taking a long time.

You should always determine if you put $4,000 or Finnish equivalent into a car, it better be worth that much more if you were to sell it right away. If the car will not be worth $4,000 more (or Finnish equivalent) then just buy a Scoupe turbo and get a guaranteed working product.

In the U.S. the price of a used 2001 Corvette is now $20K. If someone is talking about modifying a 2003-2007 Tiburon and spending $4K to $7K, I tell them to go buy the Corvette. They will not get their investment back for the cost of those modifications on a Tiburon.

Yeap, I'm in the army now, so I don't have much of free time so that's why my project is taking a long time. And in Finland 2001 Corvette is a little more expensive than 20000$.
And I love my car, i'm planning to keep it as long as possible.

Yes, so i'm finally planing to change my turbo to a T25. So what kind of other mods are needed?

My exhaust is 1.75". And T25 original boost is 0.7bar. What about the intercooler, is the one that comes from 200sx too small? I could get one for free...

For example, if I put T25 with 0.7bar and 200sx intercooler, does engine get enough fuel? How much power would i get with these mods? Is the exhaust pipe too small; it's pretty new, so it would be shame if it is too small.

You are in a Real Touch Place right now. what i would do is Increase your fuel pressure to 3.5 bars(then atleasy you will be safe till 1 bar) fitt a 200sx or custom cooler(any cooler is better than no cooler)(provided the intercooler doesnt have any leaks)

if the exhuast is brand new cut out 1 box!

How much power? well More than what the T1.5 would give you. u must get a New boost Gauge so yoi can see exactly how much your boosting!

When does LIMP mode come in again? I never really had a Problem with LIMP mode plus that was like 2 years ago.

anmyway keep us informed!

NB: WHat Octane fuel do you have in you country?
