Ok. Maybe You should sell the XG for the parts and buy a temporary car. Maybe a bit economical one too for a while. An older Honda Civic maybe?

Then what exactly are You confused about? There is no difference what car do You drive when You have to earn a living. Are You worried about what people think when You arrive to work with a peace of s""", do you get fired? As far I can tell there are lot of people who thinks that Hyundai is a peace of s""", nomater what model we are talking about and also alot of people who lives beyond ones depth, sowing nothing more than unhappiness to ones life.

Bad thing is Your XG is not driveable. So You might want to repair it as fast as possible. If You can't afford to repair it, You might want to sell it as fast as possible for the price of "local price-2000$". It's not much so probably You still have to find an extra surety for the bank when You going to buy a newer car.

have you gotten a quote from a shop?

What is busted that makes it undrivable?

I REALLY want to help, but you make it hard with the cellphone type text messages.
