FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! I just bought a 2004 Santa Fe 3.5L that has 3 obnoxious "Home Link" buttons on the rear view mirror. They can apparently control up to 3 different remote's frequencies so I can conveniently re-position my mirror every time use it. I figure I might as well use it if I have it (and not have the permanent garage door remote imprint on my passenger visor). Unfortunately the owner's manual only says that it will learn the codes. Well, it doesn't. So I figured I'd be smart and go to the Hyundai dealer down the street. If anybody knows about the truck's gadgets it will be the factory dealer, right? WRONG! There is a specific button combination to push, the l.e.d. is solid, the l.e.d. is blinking, you hold buttons, you activate your garage remote and you release button(s). Apparently the order which you do this and what you expect to see to signify for you to go to the next step is different from year to year.

Does anybody know how to program these things. I only want to program one but apparently I need a masters degree to perform this. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I was told I needed to be DIRECTLY in front of my garage door and I was also told I didn't need to be anywhere near my garage to do it.

Please help me before I waste even more of my life on this!

brian,

go to hmaservice.com, and register.

Enter Service Information
Enter Santa Fe
Enter 2004
Enter 3.5 liter
In Search block (upper right) enter "homelink" Enter

this will bring up the whole instructions with step-by-step pictures. I have attached this file without the pictures because they would not attach .SVG format.Attached File  2004_Santa_Fe_Homelink_Mirror_Programming_SERVICE_MANUAL.doc ( 42.5k ) Number of downloads: 57

There was a TSB released on this (if you didn't find it on HMA), and I'm glad they did - a lot of people were very confused about it. It mostly depends on if you have an older garage door or one of the (sort of) newer ones with roaming code.
