Is there anyone else who is having problems with their transmission? I have had my Entourage only 2 months now, and wish I had never purchased it. The transmission thumps between 1st and 2nd gear, most of the time completely misses third gear, gets stuck in 4th gear and upshifts rather than downshifts when you accelerate and need a little more power. I have been back to the dealer on several occasions, and told that "that's just how they drive" and they will not fix it. My fuel consumption is only 13 miles per gallon on the freeway - isn't that a sign that something isn't right?

It is unsafe to drive in traffic, it will jump into 4th gear at 20 miles per hour. It is sluggish to take off in traffic, then will all of a sudden, drop down two gears, and take off too fast. It also surges when barely moving, like when I'm trying to park it in the garage and not hit the wall, it will pick up speed without any pressure on the pedal.

I would like to speak with other people who are also having problems with their Entourage and getting the same run around from their dealer and Hyundai. emails can be sent to : thishyundaiisalemon@hotmail.com I am hoping that collectively, as a group with the same problems, we can make Hyundai address the issues with their faulty transmissions.

In some states dealers are required to provide owners with lemon law paper work. Stop by your dealer and ask for this & see what the reaction is..

Also research the lemon law for your particuar state.

I would'nt put up with this nonsense for another minute.

^^^^What he said + try another dealer. You may find that another dealer may be more helpful in addressing your issue. My transmission is running smooth and sweet at 2,700 miles.

Welcome lemon!

I did get your inside joke "lemonvan". You do have recourse through the lemon law of your state. Colorado says 4 times for the same event within 6 months or loss of use over 30 days within 6 months. this is spelled out in your
Owner's Supplemental Handbook that you should have received during purchase.

Also, you probably signed an Alternative Dispute Resolution agreeement without realizing during the purchase. This ADR is for an arbitrator to hear both sides of the case and make a binding ruling. This does prevent you from suing the dealer for manufacturer warranty defects. The plus for you is that it cost you NOTHING to start the arbitration, and any buyer with a valid complaint will likely get a ruling in their favor.

This is BS and you shouldn't have to take this from Hyundai.

Last recourse is to contact your state attorney general. If the AG has several complaints, they will act. This is how the Ford Explorer with Bridgestone tires problem was resolved.
