My 1996 Excel GLS has a cracked dashboard. It seems that many Excels one sees in car parks, etc have the same problem..some more so than others.

Anyone know of a fix or have the same problem?

cheers

Mate, i dont have a solution for you, only to say that the exact same thing has happened to my 93 model excel, it sucks! the dash seems to be made out of quite cheap materials, which isn't surprising.

Dear zamb,

A cracked dashboard on an 11-year old car is not unusual. In Colorado, the UV intensity will crack dashboards in 7 years or less if you do not use a windhshield heat blocker or a dashboard cover.

Try this product line which I have used.

just chuck a dash mat over it. stops it from getting worse and also stops glare off the dash in the sun, seemed good to me.
