The Matrix is not sold in the U.S., but the 1.6 liter Beta engine is. Even if you have the 1.6 liter Alpha engine(unlikely), the automatic transmission fluid specification is the same. You need:

GENUINE Hyundai ATF SP-III fluid, 6.1 liters.

thanks for the info. but why spIII oil is so hard to find, many atf is dexron or mecron the only atf oil i can find in my country is petronas atf xp that close to sp-III. even hyundai rep. in indonesia says that they use dexron III. what a mess.
