Hey hey all Just letting you know

Hi had my car on the Dyno yesterday at .9 it makes 275nm at 1.2 it makes 275nm and so on.The tuner says the Airflow meter is Dropping the voltage hence initating the Safey mode. at 5000rpm it makes 275nm and then just flat line's....

I had Suspected this for a while now, it was just to common that at every boost, the nm was still the same. even at 1.7 bar(same nm for Eyelidtoo)

@ 1.7 bar i did feel the timing being pulled back. My tuner needs the Car for longer to see if he can Jippo the System...

So what im trying to say is that on the Stock Mangamnet System 275nm is all what the Scoupe Will Allow, 275nm must not be frowned at, but am still Dissapointed

Just to add that the stock Garrett T15 turbocharger on this car `runs out of puff` at 5000 r.p.m. due to it`s small size.

I only ever take the revs. over that figure when I`m in top gear & the speedo. will then record 126 m.p.h. when the needle enters the red line @ 6000 r.p.m..

Nick.

Honestly im Dissapionted i was Hoping for 170kw and 350nm @ 1.5 bar's

I will probably be able to get more power but i would have to remove the airflow meter and put on a Full Stand Alone Managment system.
Maybee some day but the cash it cost me to build this scoupe has left me dry. i have sent the scoupe away for a respray at my mates place will probably take about or month or two, give me some time to think and pay off some debt. in the last 6 months i have upgraded

Gearbox
Clutch
New Bigger Turbo(again) has had 4 different turbo, 3 were upgrade after upgrades
75mm Throttle Body
2 day Mapping Session
and some minor things but i recon

if you got a Stock scoupe GT and wanna make 275nm all u need is.

Garrett T2.5
Big Cooler
increase feul pressure to 3.5 bars
63mm Exhaust.

There will be some Fabrication for the Exhaust and Boost Pipes then Obvioulsy the Dump vavle.

I feel i did not need to have such a big turbo, Aftermarket Tubular Manifold, and a Piggy Back System/Extra Injectors.

Yes my scoupe was in Mint Condition and now she is running great but for all the bucks i spent i exspected more, maybee it was just me being blind dunno....

But she is Performing now... Actaully wanna do it all again

Well I think its good:) If you have never tried you wouldnt know wat it did. With a standalone ECU there will be more gain. Hope youll get it soon:)

Now with facts..

Okie so i was reading this article on Reducing Lag and the test car was a Audi S4 - 2.2-litre, 5-cylinder turbo, Which "allegadly" had the same ECU system as the Scoupe Turbo.

Well the bottom line in this exsperimant was a succes that they increased airflow but as they were getting better results the Ecu was lowering boost and timing, hence they where in a catch 22.

QUOTE
Aaaahhh! The ECU appeared to be dropping boost to keep the power the same, ignoring the benefits that could be had from the new high-flow intake system and better fuel! I was going around in circles while the Audi ECU thumbed its nose at me.

http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_0663/article.html?

(IMG:http://us1.webpublications.com.au/static/images/articles/i6/0652_3lo.jpg) For those who dont know this is what a scoupe airflow meter lewks JUST like, and 90% of all airflow meters do NOT looks liek this.

****Power did not respond to the better intake flow, with initially knock-triggered ignition **** then falling ECU-controlled boost the suspected culprits.****

Some peeps may not know that the MAF on the Turbo car is a hot wire unit which also incorporates the air intake temperature sensor, whereas the N.A. Scoupe has only a hot foil unit with a separate AIT sensor in the airbox.

This is one of the reasons why the Turbo`s MAF is much less likely to be damaged by fitting a cone air filter close to the unit..........doing this to a N.A. car (or an Accent/Excel) often results in early MAF failure!.

SchwitzerTurbo..i am afraid that the time has come to bin the stock management.

with the mods that you have, i am 99% sure that you will get silly power figures with standalone management...

with things like "megasquirt" it can be done for a reasonable price, as you soolder the thing together as you go along
