Dear aus,
We are not anti-social. There are many posts that I read that I don't have an answer too. Rather than shovel any bovine excrement, I did not respond with a tap dance answer.
I did help a friend of my wife's with her 1985 Excel way back in 1988. Everything was breaking on the car! The window handles were coming off. The seats had worn very rapidly for a car with little more than 30K miles. Her windshield wiper motor had burned out. That was my first experience with Hyundai, and we told her to either sell it or stage an arson!
Also, I was finishing a major project at work on 26-29 June. Sorry, but my employer does expect work routinely from me (most of us actually).
The last year for US import of the Excel was 1994. From the 1994 factory information I found that their transmission had a Tech Service Bulletin
