We just picked up a camper to pull behind our entourage. It weighs 2400 lbs fully loaded and pulls just fine. It is equipped with electric brakes though to take the stress off of the Entourage when stopping. I'm not familiar with the weight conversion but as long as you stay below the ratings for the Trajet you should be OK.

Since I'm new to towing as well I would recomend talking to a reputable camper dealer about your needs. I found some dealerships wanted to sell a camper without taking the time to make sure I had a vehicle that could move it. The dealer I bought from seemed to want to make sure we would enjoy the full ownership experience including taking the time to make sure we could tow it safely.

Here is apair of pics....

bailey do a good range called the miro 4 berth , as iam disabled and have a scooter in the back (all this has too be taken in to account ) so at the mo i shall just keep lookin and keep asking .

Had a look on the usa web site about the entourage and it looks really nice (really happy with the trajet ) just hope when i change my car in 18 mth i hope its over hear.

I am pulling a caravan as long as I have my Trajet. In fact this was one of the reasons to buy the Trajet. I have a 2.0 CRDI and have no problem with pulling the caravan even into the mountains in the South of France and Spain.
Max weight of the caravan is 1100 kg. Very stable on the road thanks to the good balance between car weight and caravan.

Take a look at http://www.towcar.eu/ and you can find out how any combination of car and caravan will fit.

Succes, Paul

I tow a 1984 twin axle lunar delta with my V6 trajet , had no problems apart from a bit of a drop in fuel economy

Hi bought my trajet for towing brilliant pulling power
the diesel is a mercedes deal I am reliably informed that is probably why its not as fast or economical as the galaxy, seat, sharan crowd but its torque is great for towing,

I've noticed the following

Doesn't like reversing up slight inclines with van on the back , sometimes get a little clutch smell
When very loaded, get an exhaust bang on switch from a fast gear change say going up steep hill change down but this always goes when unhitched

Didn't like the way that.read. the exhaust bang is a bump on the chassis not a backfire type bang

correct me if i'm wrong, the new Kia sedona and the new hyundai "entourage" (or the new trajet) is actually the same vehicle.
here in australia, the new sedona is badge as the kia carnival with the same V6 engine 2.7 ltr. as that of the trajet, then kia added the grand carnival version which has the 3.0 engine and also a bigger and wider body.

unlucky for us here in australia, we won't be seeing the entourage as the new trajet 'cos KIA already have it as the carnival. (Hyundai is a part owner of kia).i saw one of these new "trajets"/ "kia carnivals" in a motor show held here. when i saw the engine bay, and the specs, i thought it has the same engine as the trajet, then did some research if Hyundai is releasing a new model for the trajet, then i saw in a website about cars that looks the same and there i found the "entourage" and the Kia Sedona are exactly the same vehicle with different badges.

it would be cool if they only release it here as the new entourage.but sadly, it won't happen.....:(

The similarities between the Entourage and Sedona are purely cosmetic. Unfortunately they don't seem to be selling well here so we might have to go Kia if it isn't around when our lease runs out.

The 3.8L is uber powerful. Combined with the shiftronic it makes pulling the trailer a breeze.

I know I'm a bit behind the times with this thread, but I've only just joined the forum.

I tow a 1400kg caravan with my Trajet and it's fine apart from the noseweight restriction. The diesel Trajet is only rated for a noseweight of 62kg (the petrol version is 72kg for some reason).

Having said that, I'm looking to get a bigger caravan. I want to keep the same car but I think that any more weight might be a problem as the Trajet isn't that powerful. So I'm looking at getting the car chipped up from 111bhp to around 140 - with a corresponding increase in torque. This would give me the confidence to tow a 'van up to the Hyundai imposed limit of 1550kg (personally I think it would let me go much higher, maybe 1700-1800kg but this would be illegal).

Would like to hear your experiences with the tuning. Allthough the Trajet has sufficient power in most conditions, I could use some extra power going hill up while towing.
I use noseweight of approx 75 kg. Haven't checked the manual for that but did never have any problems. With 60 kg noseweight the stability of the caravan is less than with 75 kg.

Anymore Trajet caravaners at the forum? Would love to see the pics and hear experiences.
