QUOTE(Brazzel @ Jun 25 2007, 03:44 PM) I...people who are looking for an upscale car are not thinking Hyundai. It's a mind set. You see Hyundai going right for the top on it's attack on other brands.........But from what I see in people is that most are still saying..."Yeah right !" The words getting around though.
I'm not sure, but I think Hyundai's bold comparisons are not really for the BMW and Lexus shoppers. I think they are for the people who would LIKE to be BMW and Lexus shoppers, but are too smart or can't afford a $50K car. I may be wrong, but that's the way is sounds to me. The worm is turning. 2 years ago, the average car shopper didn't know how to pronounce the name Hyundai, and certainly wasn't about to shop for one. A lot more people now have them on the radar at car shopping time. If they continue with the good quality, good price, and bold ad campaign, Hyundai could reach a tipping point. The tipping point is when a large segment of the potential buyers either a. Own one, b. Knows someone that does, c. Perceives them as roughly equivalent or superior in quality to their competition d. Would seriously consider buying one.

Hyundai still has some proving to do. The Sonata started a new era, and it seems much like they've been doing it RIGHT.
But still, if Hyundai sold Sonatas for a comparable price to the CamCord, we all know there would be very few of them on the road today, which is natural.
But then just as the Japanese were DUMPING here JUNK in the late 60s to mid 70s, it will take some time, and lots of effort, brains and luck, before Hyundai CAN AFFORD selling it's cars for a comparable price as their rivals.

QUOTE(babstude @ Jun 25 2007, 02:19 PM) That must be a racecar, your tach goes to 12!!! ;) :D I think assuming that people are poor because they drive a hyundai is about as intellegent as assuming that people are stupid because they cant do algebra. The sonata is a fine car, just as able to provide basic transportation as a lexus or mercedes. In the same way, multiplication is better for basic math problems than algebra, but you need to use them for the right situation.
