Hi Trajetians,
Need help. My check engine always light up because of catalytic converter. How to disable it? How to trick the sensor? Thanks a lot. :liebe011:

You can reset the ECU by disconnecting the Negative terminal of your battery. Connect it back after 15 minutes. But this will only temporary disable the CEL, it will re-appear after sometime coz there's problem in the engine management. Best get it sorted out with your local agent.

Dear ZAMREE,

NO.

The computer is way too smart for that. It needs the signal from your oxygen sensor. Without it, the ECM defaults to a medium rich fuel setting that will impact acceleration and fuel mileage. A functioning O2 sensor is your friend.

Best get it sorted out mate.

The Cat Converter is located inside the exhaust manifold, nothing to do with the muffler. You can get it in Singapore...but its gonna be very costly.

Hi again,
I read from last Trajet thread that mazen removed his cat and replaced
with a small middle muffler and it is ok? Planned to do so!

Quote from mazen
"Hi mciamin , Hi All

I removed my cat a few months ago . my jet had clocked 135k . the
cat was ok

but i use leaded gas instead of unleaded , which means sooner than
later the cat

will be blocked . the price difference between the two types of gases is
50% .

I was told that a blocked cat damage the oxygen sensors , increased
temperature

and higher full consumption . I installed a small middle muffler as it is
called for

free in exchange for having the old cat which is then sold to the
recycling people .

I did not notice any difference in performance nor fuel consumption .

hope my input on this is useful .

Regards "

Hi korean,

Our Jet comes with 2 Cat converter. 1 at the front inside the exhaust
mainfold and there`s where 02 sensors are located too. 1 more cat is
located in the centre, which is only just the cat without any sensors. I do
remove the centre cat without any issue but if your Check engine light come
on and its due the cat issue, it`ll be the front not the centre.

Hi! I'm new here. Just join when in puzzle of which one to choose, Ria or
Trajet. But after found this forum, the answer is obvious.

I've gone for the window shopping today and found one salesperson
offering me 102K for GLS but exclude the leather seat.

So reedahal, appreciate if you can tell me the place (or email me) so
that I can get the same deal.

One more thing, is GLS come with sunroof? That salesperson told me that
it was for 2.7 litre model only. TQ

Hi Korean , Hi All

Like I mentioned before, I removed my so called second cat. 8 months

ago and things are normal . I have no idea if my jet.( 2000 cc, GLS XG ,

model year 2000) is the same as yours , because the cat that I removed is

surrounded by 2 oxygen sensors and it is located underneath the vehicle .

this description doesnot match what multi has said .

Hope I clarified things not made them more confusing .

Regards

Hi Jackson,

Yes, there is a oil cooler as well as the ATF cooler. Both are 2 different
item and cannot be use as one. IMHO, a ATF cooler is good enough for a
start. Oil cooler is slightly overkill unless your Jet is Turbo'ed.... Smile

I have the same problem B4. Got it done for RM150.00. I believe it is the second Oxi sensor. Just get a secondhand sensor with 4 wires will do. Many other made of car have it. Only cost about RM90.00. Labour is abit expensive as it is very difficult to replace. After replacing it just do a reset.

Do you know the OEM model for the 1st O2 sensor? The one just after the exhaust manifold/header and before the 1st CAT.

My current ride is 04' Trajet CVVT 2L engine (G4GC) and mileague is almost 120k km. The CEL comes one with a P0133 code which means "O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response" (see attach) and I have use Scan Tool to clear it but it will come back again (about once every 3 to 6 weeks of driving).

Taken from http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gen...-1-sensor-1.php

A code P0133 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

- The oxygen sensor is faulty
- The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed
- There is an exhaust leak

I have found out that the stock cast iron header is crack at 2 location, at 2 & 3. Last week I've replace it by a stainless steel 4-1 header and now the CEL with P0133 comes back again.

So, exhaust leak is out and the only possible cause will be the faulty O2 sensor.

Buying a used car can really have lots of problem :crying:

Yes, buying a Used car can be problem as you will not know how the old owner maintain it. Anyway the O2 sensor is Not a cheap part. So try getting a Used part as it is much cheaper. As I have mention after I change the sensor everything is fine.
