In late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research. I'm reporting absolute stats like "times in the shop" that will make the differences between cars much clearer. Relative ratings obscure too much--how large is the difference between "better than average" and "worse than average"? I’ll also be updating results four times a year, so there will be information on new models sooner.

I'll start collecting data on the Accent when enough owners have signed up to help out. To encourage participation, panel members will receive full access to the results free of charge.

Details: Vehicle reliability research

Comments, questions, and suggestions welcome.

I'm well over halfway to the minimum for the 2006, but have far fewer of the 2G Accent. Anyone who wants better reliability info, all free to participants, this is how to get it.

Latest results recently posted.

More Accent owners have signed up to help, but still not enough to start collecting data.

Updated results soon.

Will include the Accent as soon as enough owners have signed up to participate.

Nearly 24,000 vehicles in the panel. Need more of them to be Hyundai Accents...

Hi Michael....I'll second your efforts to get Accent drivers to sign up for Accent reliability reports.

Michael Kiresh knows his statistics. He has reports for Hondas, Chevys, Toyotas, Fords, & even more popular Hyundai cars. Many others too. But he needs more Accents. Help him compile accurate reliability stats for our Accents. Sign up with him.

I give him data on my Dodge Caliber & Michael has reliability stats for the Caliber. I also have signed up for Mr. Kiresh's service for my wife's 2008 Accent.

Thank, I appreciate it.

Still need more owners to sign up before any model year can be included in the main survey.

The 2002 is now half way to the minimum, and other years are also getting closer.

Updated results for 116+ other models next week.

I'd like to be able to include the Accent in future results. But need more participants for this to happen.

Those results posted. I hope to include the Accent in future updates--it will depend on how many owners sign up and participate.

The 2007 and 2008 are now included in the survey, but not yet any year of the previous generation. Getting closer, though.
