Can anyone shed some light on my odd little car?

I have been driving an excel 93 hatch for about 3 years now, and it is a great machine.

Lately, however, the horn has been making little honks all by itself, which is starting to become a bit of a problem. (people keep thinking I'm some sort of aggressive driver!)

It seems to happen when I start the car up, or hit bumpy bits of road - which leads me to think that it's a circuitry problem, but, since I'm about as technically minded as a sock full of peanut butter, I thought I'd see if anyone here has had a similar experience and can offer some advice.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi there,

i also had the same following problem, but mine would go off at like 2:30 in the morning.

i just kinda did a dodgy quick fix, basically remove the horn cover, disconnect the 2 wires that go to it, once that's off, pull the cover off the horn cover, once you get that off you'll see a whole copper looking pad, you'll probably find that the 2 plates are to close together, all i did was seperate them and used electrical tape on one side of the plate around the edges, and along the rest of the plate except the middle bit which i just bent out more, then you just put the cover back over it, connect it back up and should work.

Hope that helps
