Hi there, does anyone know where I can tap into the speedo pulse generator ?
I am fitting a sat nav unit and I have heard that many manufacturers now send a pulse on one of the Car Radio cables, does anyone know which one ?
Regards
Antony

If you are referring to manufacturer's as Hyundai or the car stereo, sat/navigation system, which one? . If its hyundai then the pulse signal from the speedo is located in the engine managment system module, to find you will need the hyundai electrical manual. Do not apply a light tester or multimeter to this wire as it can damage the speedometer which is a solid state device.

Some times depending on the vehicle the speedometer cable is also found in the body control system nearest to the bell alart system. If you car is less than three years old then hyundai should have integrated the entire electrical system and the speedometer wire will appear once.
