I have had mine installed for a few days now. It's working great so far. I can hear a little engine whine while driving if the iPod is between songs and the stereo is turned up. But it's fairly minimal. Overall I think it's well worth the money. It's awesome to be able to play Sesame Street or some other video when my daughter starts freaking out.

I have found this thread very useful - thanks to everyone who posted  - just purchased my VC in FLA - getting it shipped to Ottawa, Canada - was able to provide dealer with part number and price for the MP3 Input Plug - he installed it at the cost posted.

Do you by any chance have the part number for this connector? The part number previously shown here, was U8550-00100, but this is just a charger from the cigarette lighter to the IPOD

That is the same part number I used when ordering mine. You are ordering for the Veracruz right? Maybe your dealer typed it in wrong.

Hello everyone I'm new to the board....I'm going through the same dilemma of using my ipod. I was curious though when the install on the GLS was done did you happen to measure the stock stereo? Would anyone know the sbase model radios dimensions? Only reason I was asking is Crutchfield says the VC has a single din slot. I'm think maybe I can buy a double din with mp3 jack in front to help resolve my ipod issue.

There is no DIN port on the VC stock stereo. As far as measurements I can guarantee nothing else will fit without a dash install kit. It's huge. I would just install the Auxiliary Input kit. It was fairly easy.

I have an '08 VC with the IPOD AUX installed. Any reason why it works with a Nano and full-size Video version, but not an original Shuffle???

Thanks
