My 2000 Trajet central locking is playing up. It works on all other doors but has lost control of the drivers door over the last few weeks.

I spent this afternoon stripping the door, and lubricating what I can but it is no better. I imagine that it is the actuator/motor in this door.

However having spent hours with my hands in every conceivable orifice, including removing the exterior door handle I cannot see how the actuator is mounted to the door.

Has anybody been in this far and removed it? Any idea what the part will cost me?

Any advice appreciated.

Mike

Hi, this is a pain when they go wrong, two of mine are playing up the passenger front and drivers side rear,

They are mounted on a steel frame which you have to remove from the door,
the 3 bolts holding the door catch have to come out (the three in the door shut), you need to unscreew the window from the motor gear (two screews that go through bottom of the glass / metal runner), unclip the bar from the out side door handle and lock, i think also the inside door handle has to be uncliped and removed (or it comes off with the frame can't remeber now)

Hope this helps, it is quite easy when you get going.

The locking actuator has a bar that moves up and down depending on locking or unlocking, this part wears and ends up with alot of free play which stops it working correctly.

The actuators are £100 from the dealer, not been able to source any from any place else.

Can any one here help

Adrian :)
