just a heads up guys on this product.
i just used this stuff on my car. it seems very oily. it took too long to dry. a little goes a looooooong way. one bottle should last a lifetime. maybe i didnt let it fully dry, but when i was removing it, it seemed to be really streaky. i'm glad my car is white, i'm not sure how a dark color would turn out. i'm sure eventually i'll give it another try. i wish i had spent my $15 on another brand.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll stick with the NXT from Meguires.

I use it on all three of my vehicles, with excellant results. I love the way it dresses the black plastic on the Sonata.

If you've used touch-up paint on dings and scratches (Hyundai paint pen or other), is it okay to wax/polish the touched up area? With the paint being so thin, will it take it right off?

I have a bottle of ICE too and although I don't dislike it, I'm not too crazy about it either. You're right about the streaks and they're quite difficult to buff out. Initially, I also thought I didn't allow it to dry thoroughly so the next time I used it, I let it stand much longer - with similar results. My Sonata's steel (dark) grey. Imagine how that looked like with the streaks. LOL!

I only tried ICE out of curiosity. It's been satisfied. Now I'm back to Meg's NXT paste - two coats most times. Absolutely wonderful results.

I will miss ICE's shine on black plastic/rubber parts but neither would I mind using a toothbrush and some water to remove NXT off trims. I think it's a tiny price to pay for better results compared to ICE.

Carlos,

I have over a dozen spots throughout the car that I've touched up and each one gets waxed just like the rest of the car. I haven't seen any come off. Don't worry about it. Wax on, wax off!

I mostly use the Turtle Wax spray bottle. It gives pretty good results and dries up quickly. It might not be as good as meguires but the results are pretty good. And its effortless :)

I never used that stuff. I mainly use Meguiars Gold Glass. It is pretty good, but my car seems like a magnet for dust after I wax it.

Not true. The turtle ICE WAX (discussed in TURTLE ICE WAX BETTER THAN SLICED BREAD?) is actually very easy to apply almost a joke although i cant say I like the little pad they give you. seems too abrasive. you could do the whole car and wait for 20 min and it is very difficult to BUFF much worse than traditional wax REGARDLESS OF WHAT KIND OF TOWEL YOU USE. ALthough I have noticed using a clean towel for each panel of the car makes the job A LOT EASIER since you dont have excess run off keep rubbing onto the car causing streaks
But some people are just too cheap to get a few extra shop rags
Also after buffing doing panel by panel with the spray detailer helps with the streaks. but you have to buff it WHILE WET or else its very difficult.
Also use clean rags as often as possible to prevent excess run off streaking

OVERALL SHINE IS GOOD. WAS HOPING FOR A LITTLE LESS EFFORT BUT I can live with it. i

i wouldnt be caught dead waxing my car with a shop rag

I picked up an Original California Car Duster thing from Costco the other day and wondered if anyone here uses one (or something similar) on their Sonata between washings. The package says it has "exclusive baked-on wax-treated strands" and "special Non-Volatile, odorless & colorless, Paraffine oil." Could this damage the Sonata's paint?

Carlos,

I've been using that duster for a long time now - I love it. What's weird about it is the dirtier it gets, the better it seems to work. I've only occasionally smacked it against something to dislodge loose dirt/dust but I've never washed it yet.

Perfectly fine for your car's finish - enjoy using it!
