I've got a 2000 Amica which is v difficult to get into reverse, I have to put it in & out of neutral and also push down & pull up on the gear stick to get reverse engaged. It seems to be getting more difficult.

Hyundai UK don't acknowledge it as a problem, so I don't know what the answer is. It may be possible to adjust the linkage somehow but I can't find a workshop manual that covers the car.
I guess the Atos might use the same gearbox??

hi
i read your problem about your hyundai not reversing. I know it was ages ago. Please tell me if you managed to eventuallly figure out the problem and what needed to be replaced? I'm having the exact same problem with my hyundai elantra 1998. its doesnt reverse. when you put it in reverse it feels like its in neutral it doesnt reverse a single inch at all. but drive works fine. your assistance is kindly appreciated. cheers
