I think you can but the engine bay would need a lot of modding, im read someone else did it on this board, or maybe on another one is currently doing it but i dont think i read if it ever got finished.

Itd be a pain, but wouldnt it be cool to have a supercharged 2.7 V6 under the hood of the go-kart sized Accent? Thatd be a blast

Its too much hard work, although I dont know much about accent the engine bay is too small to accomodate a 2.7 Delta. If you really want to put alot of work into the accent engine, then a wiser choice would be the new I4 Theta Engine. Reason for this is because its a world engine and can be modified with Dodge Caliber SRT4 parts and its smaller than the delta, thus cost saving modification. Having 300 HP in a lightweight accent would be fun :)

You would definitely have to reinforce the engine supports for one but i don't know if the frame could handle the extra weight. Whats the weight difference of the 2.7 to the 1.6. However with that weight in the front the cornering would be like magic. If you do go thru with it be sure to make a video of that monster doing a killer burnout.

If I was going to go through all of the B***S*** of doing a monster Accent swap, and I was staying with a Hyundai motor, I would use a 3.8 Lambda. If your going to hack a car , why not do it big.
