high all, i am new to the site. i have a uk 1.1 getz CDX which requires its 3rd year sevice to keep the warrenty. the local hyundai garage quoted £ 256 for a minor service!!

i dont know about other countries but this is a huge price for a small car and i sometimes think is the warrenty quoted bt Hyundai worth the money?

has anybody experienced a major brealdown of a getz before 5 years?

anyway, i walked straight out the door to an independant VAT registered garage and asked for a quote for a minor service to Hyundai spec using hyundai parts ( they would just have to walk next door for buy the parts) they quotes £79 + parts ie approx £120-140.

i walked mext door th the Hyundai garage and established i would not loose my warrenty using the other garage and this was correct, however i gave the Hyundai gagage an opportunity to match the price, guess what... they did thus a saving (to me ) of £100+.

Moral of the story don't take the first dealer service price. any body similar experience?

By the way great site, populated by some pleasant people, great posts

good for you, just a point to think about, you can have your car serviced at any reputable independant garage and despite what you main dealer or hyundai uk will tell you it will not void your warranty. there has been several test cases in the uk involving other makes in the past and it does not stand up in the english courts

Hi
Current Hyundai offer on new Getz, 3 years servicing = £99. I negotiated a good, three year deal when I bought my Terracan in 2003 but it wasn't £99!!
